Rosemount Australian Fashion Week kicked off with a vibrant splatter of colour against a grey Sydney Harbour-side background on Monday, with one of its favourite designers on show at the occasion. The Spring/Summer 2011/2012 collections will be presented until 06 May. Yesterday’s show saw Sydney’s fashion royalty, including Vogue editor Kirstie Clements and Napoleon Perdis, take centre stage to see Perry’s spring/summer 2011-12 collection, which was a palette of rich colour and high glam.
Alex Perry showed his stunning gown collection for the 2011 Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. The second summer 2011/2012 Cuban princess collection was a beautiful blend of exotic feminine lines with slightly edgy structures. Skirts ranged from knee length, structured tulip shapes to long, chiffon numbers that gracefully swept the floor as the models made their way across the runway.
Alex Perry, who calls Kingsgrove home, presented his latest range at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at The Rocks this morning. The collection included some gorgeous white laced and sheer garments thrown over faint floral printed one-piece swimwear in a modern twist on retro-vintage.
To compliment Alex’s extravagant new collection, Napoleon’s inspiration was a Cuban princess strong, stunning and a little exotic. However, the Australian favourite was a little more adventurous than in previous years; teaming in some instances rose pink coloured sequins with dark floral patterns.
