Christian Dior opened at Paris Haute Couture week in spectacular style this afternoon with a breathtaking show, on the opening day of the spring/summer 2009 season in Paris yesterday. There were also many other high-profile designer whose stunning desings captured the eyes of audience, guests and especially the eyes of media-cameras.
This was really an awesome fashion fair because there were also many high-profile designers like Jeremy Healey, long time collaborator with John Galliano was doing the music. John Galliano was fired in March amid a scandal over alleged anti-Semitic remarks, and his former right-hand man stepped in Monday.
Christian Dior representatives stressed that Gaytten’s bow-taking did not denote his selection as successor of John Gallian.
As many as eighty craftsmen and women in the Dior couture ateliers worked for between 300 and 400 hours who took to the catwalk in fairy-tale dresses crafted from layers of candy-hued tulle that swirled in ruffles about their hips.
